Filter Your Own Water

Consider filtering your own water.

Most of the earth's surface is covered with water, but only a small percentage of it is fresh water, and only a small percentage of this fresh water is available to humans.  Along with the amount available to us humans, we're concerned about the quality of the water we drink.  We, in the industrialized portion of the world, have greatly increased our health and longevity through the availability of clean, safe water.

Many of us have resorted to drinking bottled water and wouldn’t think of drinking tap water.  We assume that bottled water is better and safer; however, the regulations concerning bottled water are miniscule and often the bottled water we are drinking is just tap water that has been filtered.  In most cases, we would be better off and it would be cheaper if we filtered our own tap water.

So, save the energy it takes to produce and then recycle those millions and millions of plastic water bottles: consider filtering your own tap water.
