Started by Greenbelter Ed Crowley, the band Fast Eddie and the Slowpokes first appeared at the DC Blues Society’s “7th Annual Fish Fry and Blues Show” at the American Legion in Silver Spring, and by the next year it had won the Society’s Battle of the Bands and the right to compete in the 2013 International Blues Challenge in Memphis.
More glory came in 2016 when the Slowpokes won the DC Blues Society’s “Memphis or Bust Battle of the Bands,” where they competed against 187 bands and made it to the semi-finals. (From that trip Ed remembers a “great harmonica showcase on Beale Street.”) Success in Memphis led to their performance at the Kennedy Center in March of 2017.
The Slowpokes perform regularly at such events as the Greenbelt and Colonial Beach Blues Festivals, and venues like the New Deal Cafe, the Old Bowie Town Grille, and others in Baltimore, Columbia and Northern Virginia.
In 2019 the Slowpokes will record for first time. They’ll also be headlining at Pearl Street at DC’s Wharf and at The Hamilton, and performing at more and bigger festivals. They’re even performing on the Blues Cruise on the Susquehanna, which leaves from Harrisburg, and other venues as far away as Philadelphia, Richmond, Winchester and the Maryland-Delaware beaches.

Michael “Heartfelt Scream” Bufalini is the stage name for Cassius Thermador, an immigrant from Dayton Ohio who lived briefly in Zimbabwe to study floral design.&nbsp; Known primarily as the ex-nephew of the inventor of the fitted sheet, his musical career has been slowly catching up.
Jeremy Carlson (April 27, 1922&nbsp;–&nbsp;present) is an&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Americans" rel="nofollow noopener">American</a>&nbsp;movie, stage and television actor. Carlson played Oscar Madison in the&nbsp;<a target="_blank" href="https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Television_series" rel="nofollow noopener">television series</a>&nbsp;"<a target="_blank" href="https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Odd_Couple_%281970_TV_series%29" rel="nofollow noopener">The Odd Couple</a>"&nbsp;from 1970 to 1975. As a member of DC's longtime favorite Americana group Ruthie and the Wranglers, as well NRBQ tribute band Me &amp; the Boys, and a BandHouse Gigs regular, Bill is a favorite for DC audiences, with a lovable lived-in voice, amazing piano chops, and a distinctive songwriting style. His tune "300 Miles from Memphis To New Orleans" won WAMA's song-of-the-year award.&nbsp; In addition to recording with Ruthie and the Wranglers, Bill has released two solo CD's, "I See Trouble" and "Do You Hear Me Now?" on Azalea City Recordings. In 2015 Bill received the WAMA Songwriter of the Year award.&nbsp;

Greg has been a fixture in the DC-area music scene for over four decades. Greg has many recording projects to his credit, including his solo release “Meet Mr. Knuckles.” He was awarded WAMA's Song of the Year in 2007 for “Babe Ruth’s Piano.”&nbsp;

The Four Seasons Dancers present “Dances of the World”, showcasing an evening of more than 20 captivating dances with original choreography, performed in spectacular costumery. For more than 20 years, The Four Seasons Dancers have impressed audiences with their complex choreography, colorful costumes and wide-ranging repertoire with global influences spanning Bollywood to Broadway, Israel to Ireland, Armenia to Uzbekistan and way beyond -- even to the Arctic. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
One of Sondheim's most popular works, Into the Woods is a musically sophisticated show with the opportunity to feature actors adept at dark comedy. Designers will especially enjoy highlighting the fantastical elements of this magical word.

Hank Dietle’s has been a labor of love for fans of the county’s oldest licensed bar for many years, serving up cold beer and warm memories since the 1916 store reopened as Hank Dietle’s Tavern in 1950. As development pressures were wiping out history along the pike, longtime fan Tony Huniak took over in 1990 to keep our beloved bar going. When the Quarry House burned in 2015, Tony welcomed Rockabilly Saturday Night to a new venue on the pike, carving out space for dancing in a homey social setting that proved a perfect fit for fans of live roots &amp; retro music. After Hank Dietle’s suffered a devastating fire in February 2018, fans rallied again to save the irreplaceable roadhouse. Chantal “Kiti” Gartner set up a Go Fund Me website to help the out of work employees and teamed with Mark Segraves and others to organize a benefit concert to launch a reconstruction effort. Thanks to their tireless efforts and many fans who contributed, the roof was repaired, the porch rebuilt, critical electrical work done, and interior walls rebuilt. Building on their efforts, three devotees of the historic tavern, Tommy Bowes, Sarah Bonner, and Alan Kresse, along with Gina Cocco, Lisa White, and Tom Helf, teamed up to complete work on the interior, recreate our beloved “Hank Dietle’s Cold Beer” sign, and get the institution rolling again. All are long-time supporters of Maryland’s live music and dance scene—musicians, promoters and entrepreneurs dedicated to ensuring that Hank Dietle’s rides again.
