Tommy Lepson
Tommy Lepson is a legendary DC-area singer, keyboardist, songwriter, guitarist, and engineer whose professional career began at age 14. He has appeared with national acts including the Kinks, Captain Beefheart, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, NRBQ, the Righteous Brothers, the Spinners, and Chuck Berry, and has toured and recorded with Root Boy Slim, the Assassins (with Jimmy Thackery), and DC’s own Soul Crackers.
Tommy has also recorded with a who’s who of American roots and blues artists, among them Nils Lofgren, the Nighthawks, Danny Gatton, Tom Principato, Jerry Portnoy (Eric Clapton’s Blues All-Stars), Bonnie Bramlett, Duke Robillard, Kim Wilson (Fabulous Thunderbirds), Johnny Neel (Allman Brothers Band), and Dave Chappell. During the Clinton administration, Tommy and his band performed three times at the White House, and he has received more than eleven WAMMIE awards from the Washington Area Music Association.
Tommy will be inducted into the 2026 Maryland Entertainment Hall of Fame on June 28, 2026, underscoring his status as one of the region’s most enduring and influential voices in soul, blues, and roots music.
