Car Plows 25 Feet Inside MetLife Office

Rescue crews had to remove debris trapping a driver inside a car after it plowed through an office building Wednesday.

Rescue crews had to extricate a driver from a car that slammed into the MetLife office building on Research Boulevard in Rockville Wednesday afternoon, reports Montgomery Community Media.

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesman Pete Piringer said in a tweet that the driver does not appear to have life-threatening injuries. The vehicle traveled about 25 feet inside the building before stopping at a stairwell.

Debris trapped the driver inside the vehicle for a time.

Emergency crews were called to the accident at about 4 p.m., according to Piringer.

The building was evacuated after the collision.
