ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County police are searching for a suspect who was caught on surveillance video holding up a Rockville beer and wine store at gunpoint and making off with cash from the register.

Authorities say a masked thief entered Midway Beer and Wine at 16057 Frederick Rd. around 2:30 p.m. Jan. 2. Surveillance footage released on Tuesday appears to show the unidentified suspect waving a handgun in the air and motioning two people to the cash register.

According to police, the suspect threatened the two employees and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash. They say the thief fled the area in a metallic brown Nissan Altima — either a 2016 model or later.
