Chesterbrook Academy in Olney Donates 188 Pounds of Food

Chesterbrook Academy Preschool in Olney recently held a food drive to help community members in need this holiday season. Students collected 188 pounds of nonperishable food for Manna Food Center in Gaithersburg, which will distribute the donations to Montgomery County-area families. Through this initiative, students learned the importance of help others and giving back to the community, especially during the holiday season.

Manna Food Center’s singular mission is to eliminate hunger in Montgomery County, Md. Through food distribution, education and advocacy, the organization is making strides on behalf of more than 78,000 county residents who experience hunger and food insecurity.
