Child Porn Transportation Charge Leads To Jail Time For Rockville Man
A 53-year-old Rockville man was sentenced in federal court on Thursday for the transportation of child pornography.
GREENBELT, MD — A 53-year-old Rockville man was sentenced to nine years in federal prison on Thursday, followed by 15 years of supervised release, for the transportation of child pornography, according to a U.S. Department of Justice release.
U.S. District Judge Theodore D. Chuang ordered Gregory Thomas Clement to register as a sex offender where he resides and at his place of employment, following his release from prison.
On May 20, 2022, an international law enforcement agency notified Homeland Security Investigations about a person who was using an encrypted chat application to discuss their sexual interest in children, according to Clement's plea agreement. Through its investigation, HSI identified that person as Clement.

U.S. Customs and Boarder Protection officers in Chicago conducted an outbound border search of Clement on Aug. 12, 2022, as he was boarding a plane to Japan. Clement turned over his cellphone to the officers, who found several images showing his sexual abuse of a minor victim, according to court documents.
Investigators conducted a forensic analysis of several electronic devices found during a search of Clement's residence. They recovered images and videos of child pornography from those devices.
