Country, Folk, Bluegrass and More at the Tree of Life Cafe!

The Crayfish Sisters, Sweet Yonder and Michael Kelly at the Tree of Life Cafe in Rockville.

The first Tree of Life Cafe of the 2015/2016 season features two mostly-female groups and a male cameo performer. Join us on Friday, September 11 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Rockville from 8:00 to 10:30 PM.

The Crayfish Sisters are a female harmony vocal group that specializes in traditional country, ‘50s and ‘60s pop and western swing. Their music is inspired by The Davis Sisters and other vocal duets and trios from that period. Lynn Healey, Caroline Alderson and Sarah Bonner are all on vocals, with Lynn also on guitar. Veteran bluegrass musician Mark Clifton will be sitting in with the Sisters on resonator guitar.

The ladies of Sweet Yonder play new arrangements of popular folk, bluegrass, and Americana classics as well as fresh original songs with a familiar feel, all delivered with sweet vocal harmonies and gutsy attitude. Carolyn Eyerly Sagatov (guitar, vocals), Mary DeGuire Romagnoli (mandolin, vocals), Rachael Hansel (banjo, guitar, vocals) and Sarai Heath (bass, vocals).
