Dog Chewing On Vape May Have Caused Damascus Fire

Authorities say a man's dog may have started a fire in his home after chewing on a vape device.

DAMASCUS, MD — A man's dog may have started a fire in his Montgomery County home after chewing on a vape device.

Police believe one of the homeowner's three dogs might have played with a vaping device to the point where its battery leaked gas or caused a chemical reaction and flame, according to WTOP.

The three dogs were rescued from the man's Damascus townhouse Sunday afternoon. The battery of the vaping device is being examined at a lab to determine exactly how it caught on fire, authorities said.
