Donate Bikes To Help Support Low-Income Residents: MCDOT
The Montgomery County Department of Transportation will hold a bike collection event on Oct. 18 to help support low-income residents.
ROCKVILLE, MD — Have a bicycle or parts and accessories you're no longer using? Don't throw them away just yet.
On Friday, Oct. 18, the Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will host a bike collection event to help support residents in need. Bicycles and bicycle parts can be brought to the corner of East Jefferson and Monroe streets in Rockville from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Transportation officials say the donations will go to the Rockville Bike Hub, a nonprofit organization whose volunteers fix up bikes and then gives them to low-income residents during the holidays.

Bikes for the World is also partnering with Rockville Bike Hub to accept bicycles that are beyond repair.
Don't have a bicycle to donate (or want to give more)? Write a check to the Rockville Bike Hub program. The money will be used to purchase parts to repair the bikes, officials say.
