Driver Pinned Under Overturned Fuel Tanker: Reports

Montgomery County emergency crews extricated a truck driver pinned under his rig and stopped a fuel spill into a creek Thursday.

Diesel fuel has spilled into a creek and a truck driver was seriously injured after being pinned under his tanker Thursday morning, authorities say.

The fuel tanker overturned on Club House Road between Edwards Ferry Road and Elmer School Road in the Poolesville area, according to Pete Piringer, public information officer for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services.

Piringer said on Twitter that a significant amount of fuel spilled into a creek from the 2,500-gallon tanker. The leak has been contained and HazMat crews are on scene.
