One of my ESOL students got an $8000 scholarship to college, plus a $2000 scholarship and a $1000 scholarship. I recommended him for all three. He is still learning English, but has great potential as a future leader. He will attend Montgomery College for two years, and I hope will be able to transfer to UMD to earn a Bachelor's Degree. I talk to my students about college all the time. This is the first step toward the American Dream.
