Alan Reid

Alan Reid was an ever-present member of the Battlefield Band from 1969 through 2010. After four decades, he decided that it was time to bow out, in order to develop his writing and to follow other musical paths and partnerships. This year, Alan has released a new CD, Recollection, a compilation that takes a retrospective look at some of the finest songs Alan wrote during his forty years with Battlefield Band.

Alan will be accompanied by his duo partner Rob van Sante. They'll be performing many of the songs well loved by Battlefield Band fans everywhere, along with new material. This seminal figure of the Scottish folk revival is embarking on the next stage of his illustrious career.

IONA

IONA is returning to IMT to release their 25th Anniversary CD! The CD, aptly named Silver, is due out at the end of September.

IMT audiences know that IONA's concerts take them to all of the seven Celtic nations and across the world to all the places that Celtic music has traveled. Each show is a unique, acoustic weave of the traditional music of Scotland, Ireland, Wales, Cornwall, Brittany (France), the Isle of Man, Asturies and Galicia (Spain), as well as their transplants in America. Blending songs, dance tunes, and aires into a rich and stunning tapestry, their style is outstanding in an arena where these traditions are seldom intertwined.
