The Village at Rockville will host author Brian Jay Jones, October 9 at 10:30am, to read and discuss his biography Washington Irving: An American Original. Irving is infamously known for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. Jones writes about how writing was Irving’s primary means of support and how during his time he was one of the most famous men in the world. Irving was personal friends with writers Dickens, Hawthorne and Longfellow. This first book for Jones has received great reviews. He renders Irving in all his flawed splendor and offers a human portrait of Irving. This event is free to the public. For more information, please call 301-354-8447. No sign-up required.
