Join us for a Weaving Demonstration Day on Saturday, September 29 to learn about the craft of weaving while watching expert weavers at work. This FREE event will include hands-on activities for ages 5 and up, and tours of the exhibit “Glamour, Glitter, Glitz” featuring unique works by members of Complex Weavers. Christine Spangler, whose work is on display in the exhibit, will be demonstrating computer-assisted weaving on a loom.

“Glamour, Glitter, Glitz” is a juried exhibition featuring 44 original works by members of Complex Weavers, an international organization of advanced hand weavers. On display through October 14 in the VisArts Kaplan Gallery will be a diverse range of apparel, home furnishings and three-dimensional art objects employing complex weave structures which interface threads and fibers that dazzle, shimmer and shine. VisArts Gallery Hours are Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m.
