 (Bethesda, MD, February 24, 2011) – The Washington School of Photography has partnered with Lensbaby, makers of “the lens that bends”, for an extraordinary exhibit of images from around the world.  “Be Seen in D.C.!” will open Friday, March 4, 2011 in the Gallery of VisArts at Rockville.  The exhibit will continue through March 30, 2011.

 Lensbaby and the Washington School of Photography are excited to showcase such an incredibly high-caliber selection of photos.  This exhibit will feature 50 of the more than 500 images submitted for entry. 

Jurors for “Be Seen in D.C.!” were renowned photographer Parker Pfister, Fraser Gallery owner Kate Fraser and WSP Executive Director Missy Loewe.

 This exhibit is the latest in a series of events WSP has organized and sponsored in cooperation with the Metropolitan Center for Visual Arts (VisArts), located at Rockville Town Square.  Click here for directions to VisArts.

Lensbaby is a Portland, Oregon based manufacturer of award-winning Creative Effects camera lenses including the Composer, Muse, Control Freak. Lensbaby was launched by Craig Strong, a professional photographer and the inventor of the patented Lensbaby Creative Effects SLR lens system.  Lensbaby is located online at Lensbaby.com

The Washington School of Photography, a 501-C-3 non-profit charity, was founded by professional photographers in 1976 to provide quality education for photographers in the Washington and Baltimore metropolitan areas.  Each year, WSP provides instruction to approximately 1,400 members of the general public through 140 short courses from introduction to digital photography to advance studio lighting.  WSP’s flagship program is a one-year course of study leading to a certificate in professional photography.  The WSP Professional Photography Program is approved by the Maryland Commission on Higher Education.  WSP is located online at WSP-PHOTO.COM
