“This is a heinous violent crime, a targeted double murder, a crime of rage and anger that shocked Frederick County to the core,” Frederick County Sheriff Chuck Jenkins said during a news conference Monday.
Around 7 a.m. on the day of the killings, police were called to a home in the 7000 block of Mandalong Court after a reported shooting. When police arrived, they found Baker and Lange dead in an upstairs bedroom.

Jenkins said the couple were lying in bed when Baker fired 42 rounds at them from close range.
Four children were inside the home during the shooting. All were unharmed, police said.
According to investigators, Baker and Lange were living together at the time of their deaths. Baker was the mother of all four children found inside the home, police said. Lange was the father of one of the children.
Turner was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, home invasion and two counts of use of a firearm in a crime of violence or felony. He is currently being held at the Broward County Sheriff’s Office Jail in Florida, awaiting extradition to Maryland.
