Fire Department Vehicle Hits 2 Pedestrians In Rockville: Police

A fire department vehicle struck two pedestrians in Rockville Saturday night. One victim suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Authorities say two pedestrians were injured after they were struck by a Rockville Volunteer Fire Department vehicle on Saturday night. The incident occurred on Beall Avenue around 9:30 p.m.

According to Montgomery County Police, Diane Evans, 59, was driving eastbound in a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado assigned to the department when she struck a man and a woman.

Both victims were taken to hospital. The female pedestrian, according to authorities, suffered life-threatening injuries.

Police did not immediately release the victims' names or explain what caused the crash.
