Flower Child Restaurant Opens In Rockville On Nov. 7

To celebrate the restaurant's opening, Flower Child will award gift cards to the first 100 customers. This is Flower Child's first location.

ROCKVILLE, MD - From Flower Child: Seeking to spread healthy food for a happy world, the highly-anticipated fast-causal eatery, Flower Child, will open in Travilah Square at 10072 Darnestown Road, Rockville, Maryland, on Wednesday, November 7. The opening of Flower Child in Rockville marks the restaurant’s first location in the metropolitan Washington region, with other locations soon to come.

In celebration of the opening, Flower Child will be giving $25 gift cards to the first 100 guests, to use on their next visit to the restaurant. Additionally, Flower Child will also be donating a portion of proceeds from opening day sales to the UMD Shady Grove Campus Kitchens Project, a national program on high school and university campuses for students to transform unused food from dining halls, grocery stores, restaurants, and farmers markets into meals for their community. Along with the donation and gift cards, Flower Child will also distribute potted succulents from local Holley Simmons’ one-of-a-kind terrarium brand, Sill Life.

Executive Chef Sean Ware and General Manager Christopher Boitel will lead the Rockville Flower Child culinary, staff, and kitchen team to bring signature dishes and an energetic atmosphere to their new neighbors. The Flower Child menu features specially crafted and flavorful menu items that cater to any diet preference, including vegetarian, vegan, and paleo eaters, as well as options that are sugar-fee, dairy-free, and gluten-free. Guests can choose from a variety of bowls, wraps, grains, and greens made with fresh and responsibly-sourced ingredients that will leave guests feeling full and soul-satisfied. In addition to delicious food, guests can expect lightning-fast service with a warm smile.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the Rockville neighborhood,” said Sam Fox, of Fox Restaurant Concepts. “It is our mission to spread happiness through healthy and clean ingredients to the east coast, and I’m positive our guests will be amazed at how good healthy food can taste.”

The mix-and-match style menu allows guests to select favorite combinations of seasonal vegetables, fruits, and grains with plates featuring Spicy Japanese Eggplant, made with Thai basil and cashew, Indian Spiced Cauliflower seasoned in turmeric, dates, and almonds, as well as optional proteins like Grass-fed Steak and Sustainable Salmon. A hearty list of salads include the Brussels & Squash made with arugula, roasted brussels sprouts, butternut squash, organic apple, ancient grains, cranberry, goat cheese, sprouted almond, and drizzled with chia seed vinaigrette, andOrganic Kale mixed with pink grapefruit, organic apple, black currant, smoked almond, white cheddar and apple cider vinaigrette. Hearty and healthy bowls include the Mother Earth served with ancient grains, sweet potato, Portobello mushroom, avocado, cucumber, broccoli pesto, charred onion, leafy greens, red pepper miso vinaigrette, and topped in hemp seed, and Vegan Poke mixed with marinated beet, avocado, pickled mushroom, cucumber, radish, wasabi pea, smoked dulse, brown rice, and spicy ponzu. Whole wheat, flax, and chia seed wraps are baked in-house and feature specialties like The Rebel, wrapped around grass-fed steak, charred onion, Port Salut cheese, arugula, and horseradish yogurt. Hummus, soups, and gluten-free desserts are available, along with a healthy kids’ menu.

Flower Child’s beverage list includes organic wine, local beer, kombucha, cold brew coffee, and a variety of seasonal lemonades. Daily juice options are made with the same fresh fruit and veggies that are used to create the main dishes and sides for delicious concoctions that help to conserve every bit of food.

Flower Child occupies a 3,983 square-foot space, which includes indoor seating as well as seasonal outdoor patio seating that is pet friendly. Located in the newly renovated Travilah Square shopping center, Flower Child is designed with the intention of bringing guests into an inviting dining space through inspirational murals, vibrant colors, and a relaxing atmosphere that nourishes the mind, body and soul.
