Gaithersburg Fireworks Rescheduled for July 8

Three cities in Montgomery and Prince George's County have delayed their fireworks to either July 5 or July 8.

While some cities launched their 4th of July fireworks despite drizzle and gray skies Monday, a few communities in the region have postponed their shows.

Two cities will hold their fireworks shows tonight, July 5, and one has moved its show to Friday.

Gaithersburg: Activities were held indoors Monday, but the fireworks display was rescheduled for Friday, July 8, at Bohrer Park, 506 South Frederick Ave. The half-hour fireworks show begins at dusk, about 9:30 p.m. Optimal viewing areas are in Bohrer Park and at various points in surrounding locations.

College Park (University of Maryland, 7965 Baltimore Ave.): Fireworks have been rescheduled for Tuesday, July 5, at the University of Maryland in parking lot 1. Fireworks will begin at dusk - about 9 p.m., with a 30- to 40-minute program.

Grass seating is limited. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Personal coolers are permitted. Please leave your pets at home.

Greenbelt (Buddy Attick Lake Park, 555 Crescent Road): Fireworks have been rescheduled for dusk on July 5. Drum circle will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday.
