Gaithersburg Man Accused Of Rockville Rape

Police say he met the victim at the Rockville Metro before walking away with her and holding a knife to her throat as he raped her.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A Gaithersburg man is being accused of raping a Rockville woman in July, Montgomery Community Media reported. Terrance Zimmerman, 27, is facing sexual and physical assault charges after an alleged July 28 incident.

Police say the Rockville woman was standing outside the Rockville Metro at 251 Hungerford Drive when Zimmerman and another man approached her, according to Montgomery Community Media. She and one of the men exchanged numbers.

The victim and Zimmerman then left the station, police said, and went to the rear of a home on MacArthur Drive. Zimmerman then held a knife to the victim's throat and raped her, police say. She was able to escape when the knife was finally moved away from her neck.

Soon after, Zimmerman called and texted the victim, who didn't answer, police say.

Police found surveillance footage of Zimmerman and the victim walking away from the Metro, and when they arrested him at his Gaithersburg home, he was wearing a hat that matched the hat seen in the surveillance video, police say.

The victim reported the rape two days later, Montgomery Community Media reported.
