Germantown Man Dead In Rockville Single-Vehicle Collision: MCPD

A Germantown man is dead after losing control of his Ford pickup truck and crashing into a tree in Rockville Saturday morning.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A 27-year-old Germantown man is dead after losing control of his car and crashing into a tree in Rockville Saturday morning, police said.

Montgomery County Police said they were called to the intersection of Great Seneca Highway and Darnestown Road around 4:16 a.m. on Saturday. They identified Matthew Dirienzo Klopfer as the sole occupant of the 2013 Ford F-150 involved in the crash and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Detectives believe that Klopfer was driving south on Great Seneca Highway when his car veered off the roadway and became airborne before striking a tree.

No other information was immediately released. The police's Collision Reconstruction Unit is conducting an investigation.
