Girl Scouts Selling Cookies Robbed; Rockville Man Arrested: Police
A Rockville man is facing robbery charges related to the theft of money from a Girl Scout Troop selling cookies at the Safeway, police say.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A 24-year-old Rockville man is in jail facing charges for two recent robberies, including the theft of money from a Girl Scout Troup selling cookies in front of an area grocery store, according to a release.
On Feb. 12, Rockville City Police responded to the Safeway at 14939 Shady Grove Road for the report of man taking money from a Girl Scout Troop. The victims were selling cookies in front of the store when the robbery occurred.
Then on Feb. 18, city police responded to the report of an armed robbery of a food delivery driver in the 700 block of Fallsgrove Drive. Their investigation revealed that a man armed with a handgun had stolen money from the driver.

Working with the Montgomery County Department of Police’s Major Crimes Robbery Unit, RCPD investigators identified Gerrard Luke Harrison as a suspect in the case, according to a release.
After obtaining arrest and search warrants, investigators searched Harrison's home and discovered multiple items of "evidentiary value," according to police.

Police arrested Harrison and charged him with armed robbery, robbery, firearm possession – prohibited person, use of a handgun in connection with a felony, second degree assault, and handgun on person. He is currently being held on bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
