How You Can Help MOCO Residents Affected By Ida Storm Damage
Community members have organized several GoFundMe's to help neighbors who were affected by Hurricane Ida storm damage last week.
ROCKVILLE, MD — As remnants of Hurricane Ida plowed through Maryland last week, some Montgomery County residents saw extreme flooding and storm damage. Families in Rockville were displaced from their homes, as water rushed into their apartments causing severe damage on Wednesday morning.
To help families who have been pushed out of their homes by the floods, several community members organized fundraisers to help the families — some lost everything they own.

Another family at the Rock Creek Apartments woke up last week when first responders opened their windows to pull them out of their flooding apartment. They lost everything they own in the flood, and a family member set up a fundraiser for them. She wrote that her mom, grandpa, my 10-year-old daughter and sister were in the apartment. They have raised about $3,600 of a $15,000 goal.
