On The Road
As of 7:38 a.m., two left lanes of I-495/Capital Beltway Inner Loop are closed at MD-414/St. Barnabas Road due to a crash, according to WTOP Traffic. [Temple Hills, MD]
As of 7:30 a.m., MD-488/La Plata Road is closed in both directions between between Hawkins Gate Road and Radio Station Road due to a disabled vehicle, according to WTOP Traffic. [La Plata, MD]
As of a 7:26 a.m., a disabled vehicle is blocking the left lane of southbound US-29/Colesville Road prior to Southwood Avenue, according to WTOP Traffic. [Kemp Mill, MD]
As of 7:17 a.m., a crash was reported on I-95 South at MD-198, all lanes open but delays remain, according to WTOP Traffic. [Laurel, MD]
As of 7:10 a.m., debris was reported in the roadway on I-95 South past the exit for I-395/Cal Ripken Way, according to MDOT. [Baltimore, MD]
As of 7:07 a.m., the southbound-left shoulder and the northbound-left shoulder of I-795 North are closed past the exit for MD-940/Owings Mill Boulevard due to a collision, according to MDOT. [Owings Mill, MD]
As of 6:46 a.m., all lanes are closed in both directions on MD-650/Damascus between Griffith Road and Howard Chapel Road due to downed wires, according to WTOP Traffic. [Unity, MD]
As of 6:41 a.m., the left lane of I-495/Capital Beltway Outer Loop after US-29/Colesville Road is blocked, according to WTOP Traffic. [Woodside, MD]
As of 6:25 a.m., flashing traffic lights were reported on Pennsylvania Avenue, Southeast in both directions at Fairlawn Avenue, Southeast, according to WTOP Traffic. [Washington, DC]
As of 4:32 a.m., the northbound-shoulder and the two right traffic lanes of MD-97 at Glenmont Circle are closed due to utility work, according to MDOT. [Wheaton-Glenmont, MD]
As of 3:10 a.m., eastbound shoulders and both right off-ramps closed on I-70 East at the exit for I-695/Baltimore Beltway due to a collision, according to MDOT. [Baltimore, MD]
Ongoing Closures:
Westbound-right off-ramp from MD-725 West at John Rogers Boulevard is closed due to roadwork, according to MDOT. [Upper Marlboro, MD]
The northbound-left shoulder of I-95 North is closed from Weigh Station Access Road to Cherry Hill Road, according to MDOT. [Adelphi, MD]
Eastbound shoulder, traffic lane and center turn lane of MD-648 East between Kuethe Road and Governor Ritchie Hiway are closed due to a utility problem, according to MDOT. [Glen Burnie, MD]
Mass Transit
As of 6:43 a.m., MARC Camden Line Train 849 was canceled on Monday morning due to lack of equipment. Passengers will be accommodated by MARC 851, which is scheduled to depart on time at 8:05 a.m, according to MDOT. [Washington, DC]
Due to an operational issue, some trips on the following Metrobus routes may experience delays: 17 G, 17K and K9, according Metro. [Washington, DC]
DC Weather
Skies over Rockville on Monday morning were mostly cloudy with a temperature of 72 degrees around 7:55 a.m., on Monday, according to the AccuWeather forecast.
Thunderstorms, some heavy, are expected to pass through the region in the afternoon and into evening hours. The high on Monday will be 82 degrees and the low 63, with a 92 percent chance of precipitation.
A flood watch for the Washington, D.C. region will go into effect at 5 p.m., on Monday until 12 a.m., on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected Monday afternoon into the evening as a cold front pushes through the area, according to the NWS forecast. Heavy rainfall rates could produce localized rainfall amounts of 2 to 3 inches in a short period of time.
