Local Kids Doing Good for Local Heroes on 9/11

Silver Spring, MD children honor their Silver Spring, MD Firefighters on September 11th (9/11).

On September 11th, volunteers with the Jewish Federation of Greater Washington came together to show their gratitude for the firefighters at the Silver Spring Fire Department. As part of the Federation’s Doing Good initiative, local children created superhero costumes for real heroes and presented them with the capes and masks as well as baked goods which they also prepared. The children were able to tour the ambulances and fire trucks, and were honored to spend the afternoon with some of the bravest community members on an important day for all of us. The event was hosted by B'nai Israel Congregation.
