A Germantown man reportedly advertised on websites overseas for women to work as escorts, say Montgomery County Police.

A Germantown man who reportedly advertised his escort business on overseas websites faces charges of prostitution and human trafficking, according to police.

Montgomery County Police on Monday arrested Armand Theinkue Donfack, 35, of the 19900 block of Choctaw Court for operating a business of prostitution and human trafficking.

The police investigation into possible prostitution activity began July 7 after authorities received information about escort ads being posted online.

Detectives e-mailed the advertised contact and arranged to meet a female escort at a hotel in the Milestone area of Germantown on July 8. That evening, detectives at the hotel reportedly saw a man later identified as Donfack, arrive at the hotel lobby and leave a short time later.

An escort approached police, identified her boss as Donfack and told detectives he took 60 percent of her weekly earnings from prostitution. The woman told police she came to the United States to work as an escort.

Investigators say Donfack advertised his escort business on French websites.

Donfack was arrested at his home Monday on two counts of human trafficking, one count of operating a business for prostitution, and two counts of prostitution. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond.

Anyone with information regarding Donfack is asked to call the Montgomery County Police Department at 240-773-5958.
