Man Charged In July Crash That Killed Rockville Woman

A Laytonsville man has been charged in connection with the crash that claimed the life of 25-year-old Yanique Tyshay Jones.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — A man is facing a homicide charge in connection with a July crash that claimed the life of a 25-year-old Rockville woman.

Isaac Tomas Pellegrino, 29, of Laytonsville, was charged with homicide by motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol in connection with the fatal collision that happened over the summer, Montgomery County police said in a news release.

According to police, Pellegrino was driving a 2019 Kia Stinger northbound on Goshen Road when he collided with a 2021 Hyundai Venue driven by Yanique Tyshay Jones., whose car was southbound near the intersection of Goshen Road and Rock Elm Way.

Jones had to be extricated from the vehicle, police said. She was taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

According to police, detectives determined that Pellegrino reached a top speed of 69 mph in a 35-mph zone and had a blood alcohol content of 0.19. The legal limit in Maryland is 0.08.

Pellegrino was arrested on Sunday and later released on bond pending trial.
