Man Charged With Rape, Sex Assaults In Rockville, Gaithersburg
Police arrested Mahoumon Todomaey, 34, on charges of rape and sexual assault for attacks in Rockville and Gaithersburg.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A 34-year-old man has been charged with the first-degree rape of a woman in the professional corridor of Shady Grove Road in Rockville on Nov. 1. Police say Mahoumon Todomaey, of an unconfirmed address, also faces attempted second-degree rape charges in connection with two separate incidents in Gaithersburg.
On Nov. 2, investigators arrested Todomaey — who later admitted to committing a rape in Rockville and two assaults in Gaithersburg. All three incidents occurred on Nov. 1.
The Rockville incident occurred around 6:10 a.m. in the area of Shady Grove Road and Key West Avenue. Police said the female victim was walking on a sidewalk on Shady Grove Road between Key West Avenue and Blackwell Road when Todomaey approached her from behind, pushed her to a grassy area, and started to sexually assault her.

Todomaey put his hands around the victim's neck and began to strangle her, officials said. Two individuals in a nearby office complex parking lot, hearing the victim scream for help, came to her aid. Todomaey fled from the scene. He left a soda bottle behind, which police collected as evidence and tested for fingerprints.
Later that night in Gaithersburg, Todomaey assaulted two women in an apartment building parking lot on Mahogany Drive. The assaults occurred around 10:07 p.m.

The first victim was sitting in the driver's seat of her locked car when Todomaey repeatedly tried opening the door, officials said. The second victim was throwing away her trash when Todomaey grabbed her. He then fled the scene.
During questioning, Todomaey said he intended to have sexual intercourse with the two women living in Gaithersburg. He was charged with two counts of attempted second-degree rape and second-degree assault, according to police.
