Man Fights For Life After Being Pinned Between Truck And Building

A man is fighting for his life after becoming pinned between a moving truck and an apartment building.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A man is in critical condition after getting pinned between a moving truck and an apartment building in Rockville Sunday afternoon, according to police.

The pedestrian-involved collision occurred at 1101 Higgins Place shortly after 1:30 p.m. Montgomery County Police say Malik Brooks, a 23-year-old Germantown resident, was backing a company moving truck into the loading dock when he struck his colleague, Anthony A. Liason.

Liason, 43, of Germantown, was outside at the time and was helping Brooks safely back the vehicle into the loading dock. It was then that Liason became pinned between the truck and the side of the building, authorities said.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and rushed Liason to a local hospital. According to police, the employee is still in critical condition.

The county's Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this serious collision. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call investigators at 240-773-6620.
