Man Hit by MARC Train Dies

Montgomery County Police say the man appeared to be on the tracks at the Germantown Station.

A pedestrian who was reportedly on the tracks was hit and killed by a MARC train in Germantown early Friday morning, according to the Montgomery County Police Department.

Officers were called to the Germantown MARC station at 19330 Mateny Hill Road about 1:37 a.m. Friday on a report that a man was hit by a train.

The initial investigation shows that for unknown reasons, the man had been in the area of the tracks when he was struck by a train. The victim died from his injuries at the scene, police say.

Montgomery County detectives are trying to identify the victim.
