Man Hit Three Times By Car, Dragged 30 Yards: Police

The driver -- the ex-boyfriend of the victim's girlfriend -- is charged with attempted murder, say Montgomery County Police.

A Derwood man reportedly ran down his ex-girlfiend’s boyfriend, who is expected to survive his injuries after being dragged by a vehicle.

Montgomery County Police have charged Bryan A. Jackson, 25, of the unit block of Grinnell Court in Derwood, with attempted murder and assault. The attack was reported about 6:30 p.m. Sunday near Armory Avenue and Mitchell Street in Kensington.

Investigators say Jackson was parked outside of his ex-girlfriend’s home as he waited to drop off their children, and saw the unidentified victim drop off the woman at her residence. Jackson then began to follow the victim’s car, until he at the intersection of Armory Avenue and Mitchell Street to ask Jackson why he was being followed.

Police say that once the victim got out of his car, Jackson drove ahead, intentionally striking the victim with his vehicle. The man rolled over the hood and onto the pavement, where Jackson allegedly reversed and backed over the man. Jackson then drove forward and struck the victim a third time, which trapped him underneath the vehicle.

According to police, the victim was dragged for about 30 yards. He was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Jackson was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder, one count of first-degree assault, and one count of second-degree assault. He is being held without bond.
