Man Wanted For Assault, Theft At Rockville Safeway: Police
Police need the public's help finding a man who stole items from a Safeway and assaulted a store employee in Rockville.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A thief who assaulted a Rockville supermarket employee was captured in surveillance photos, which Montgomery County Police have released in hopes that the public can help identify the suspect.
Around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, a Safeway employee saw the man take items from a store shelf and stuff them in his book bag, police said. As the employee confronted him, the thief took out a knife and pointed it at the employee's chest.
Authorities said the man fled from the store, located at 1800 Rockville Pike, and boarded a train at Twinbrook Metro station. The unidentified man is wanted for theft and first-degree assault.

Police ask anyone with information regarding this theft and first-degree assault or the suspect to call 240-773-6084. Those wishing to remain anonymous are urged to call the county's Crime Solvers at 1-866-411-TIPS (8477). A cash reward of up to $10,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.
