Man's Death at Homeless Camp Called Homicide: Police
A man's body was found inside a burning tent at a Rockville homeless camp early Thursday morning, say authorities.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in a burning tent at a Rockville homeless camp as a homicide.
Montgomery County Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the wooded area in the 5400 block of Randolph Road just after midnight Thursday. First responders saw a burning tent, extinguished the fire, and found the body of a man inside the tent.
The victim’s identity has not been confirmed.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will conduct an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Fire and Rescue Spokesperson Pete Piringer said on Twitter that a second person was injured by the fire, and nearby vehicles were damaged.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
