MCPD, Target Host 'Heroes & Helpers' Shopping Event For Kids

ROCKVILLE, MD — Christmas is coming a bit early for more than 100 children in Montgomery County this year. On Saturday morning, the Montgomery County Police Department and a Rockville Target will be hosting its annual "Heroes & Helpers" event. It will take place at 5700 Bou Ave.

The Target-sponsored initiative pairs public safety officials with children in need to shop for holiday gifts.

At Saturday's event, police officers in all six districts will be paired with approximately 120 underprivileged children. The gifts will be purchased with Target gift cards donated by the store, according to event organizers.
