MD Man Wanted For Attempted Murder, Assault Still At Large: Police

Rockville City Police are still seeing the Gaithersburg man they say tried to kill three people with an SUV last week

ROCKVILLE, MD — Rockville City Police released a photo Wednesday of the Gaithersburg man accused of striking and attempting to kill three people with an SUV last week in Rockville.

Officers responded around 2:36 p.m., on Dec. 14, to 199 East Montgomery Ave. for the report of multiple people being struck by a vehicle. The three victims, a 79-year-old woman and two men, ages 22 and 18, were taken to a nearby hospital to be treated for a variety of injuries. Although the 22-year-old was released, the other victims remained in serious condition on Wednesday, according to police.

Police obtained arrest warrants for three counts each of attempted murder and first-degree assault against 44-year-old Walter Giovanni Marquez-Aviles, whom they identified as the owner of the striking vehicle.
