Memorial Day Weekend 2019: Hometown Holidays, Taste Of Rockville
Rockville marks the unofficial start of summer this weekend with Hometown Holidays Music Fest and the Memorial Day ceremony and parade.
ROCKVILLE, MD — Starting Saturday, the streets of Rockville Town Center will come alive with colorful floats, musical performances, and the best local food during the Hometown Holidays Music Festival.
Back for its 31st year, Hometown Holidays Music Festival (May 25-27) will feature more than 30 free live performances, The Taste of Rockville, shopping, children's activities, and so much more.
This year's lineup showcases a handful of artists from Maryland, including Jah Works, Kelly Bell Band, As If, and Rockville's very own classic rock band The Digits!

The celebration kicks off at noon, so make sure to stake out your spot beforehand. Bands will be performing on four different stages across Rockville Town Center.

The Taste of Rockville
While you're jamming out to some live music, don't forget to swing by The Taste of Rockville —which is, essentially, a foodie's paradise.
The Taste of Rockville opens at noon on Saturday and Sunday and will be located along Courthouse Square. Enjoy food and drinks from some of the city's best restaurants. Each ticket costs $1.25 and can be bought at a Taste of Rockville ticket booth.

Memorial Day
On Monday, the city will hold its annual Memorial Day Parade and ceremony. The parade is set to start at 10:30 a.m. and will feature more than 60 parade units, including marching bands and floats.
Here's the schedule:
9 a.m. - Rockville Concert Band and Chorus
The City of Rockville-supported, all-volunteer band, directed by John Saint Amour, and the Rockville Community Chorus will perform a musical tribute to America.
9:30 a.m. - Memorial Day Ceremony
The ceremony will take place in Rockville Town Square in the plaza and includes music by the Rockville Concert Band and the Rockville Chorus, a traditional wreath-laying led by American Legion Post 86, a 21-gun salute and presentation of colors by American Legion Post 86 Color Guard and Rockville City Police Department Honor Guard.
10:30 a.m. - 75th Annual Memorial Day Parade
The parade will top off a weekend-long celebration with more than 60 parade units including marching bands, drill and majorette units, floats and more! More than 20,000 spectators are expected to attend this year's parade. View the parade route.
