MoCo Man Accused Of Smashing DC Cupcake Shop Window

The Rockville man was arrested Thursday and charged with felony destruction of property following the incident.

WASHINGTON, DC — A Montgomery County man is facing charges after police said he threw a keg through the window of a Washington, D.C. cupcake shop.

Charles Joseph Ali, 28, of Rockville, was arrested Thursday and charged with felony destruction of property following the incident that occurred earlier this week, the Metropolitan Police Department said in a release.

According to police, around midnight on Monday, Ali approached a business in the 3300 block of M Street in Northwest D.C. and threw a keg through the front window. He then fled the scene.

A report from WTOP identified the business as Georgetown Cupcake.

Police said they believe Ali may have been responsible for a similar incident that occurred on April 24 at a business in the 1900 block of M Street. According to police, the suspect approached the business and damaged the property before fleeing the scene.
