Dickerson Eatery Among America's Best Brunch Spots: OpenTable

DICKERSON, MD — A Dickerson restaurant is among the top 100 brunch spots in America, according to OpenTable. The Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain made the cut for the 2017 list, released this week before Mother's Day.

The online reservation hub sifted through more than 10 million reviews from its users to determine the best restaurants for a midday/mid-morning meal. OpenTable then ranked the restaurants by overall score and those with "great for brunch" checked off as a descriptor. More than 24,000 restaurants in the U.S. were considered for the list.

In addition to The Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain, three other Maryland eateries — Gertrude's and Regi's, both in Baltimore, and the Iron Rooster in Annapolis — were on OpenTable's list of top 100 brunch spots.

"Brunch has become as synonymous with Mother's Day celebrations as it has the weekend, and the repertoire of dishes associated with the midday meal has expanded exponentially," OpenTable Chief Dining Officer Caroline Potter said in a statement with the list's release. "No longer an after-thought, this meal at these winning restaurants has become a showcase for culinary diversity..."

The venue offers a mountain view including a lower level which offers a private bar and hardwood dance floor.

The menu features American Cuisine with a variety of choices from Grilled New Zealand Lamb Loin to Macadamia Crusted Grouper to our classic Filet Mignon with Crab & Chive Mashed Potatoes.

The Comus Inn at Sugarloaf Mountain is at 23900 Old Hundred Road in Dickerson. Hours are: lunch served Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m; dinner served Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m.; dinner served Friday and Saturday from 5 to 9 p.m.; and brunch served Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
