Montgomery County Police Looking For Interns

ROCKVILLE, MD — The Montgomery County Police Department is looking for some interns to help them out and get some fresh ideas into the department.
"Our volunteers introduce new ideas, a fresh outlook and an invigorating spirit to our workforce," the department said in a Facebook post, adding that interns' contributions are valued and appreciated.
Interns will get the chance to assist cops with alcohol enforcement efforts, assist officers at community events and even get a chance for a monthly ride-along.

There are several requirements for applicants. First, they have to be at least 16 years old and successfully pass a background check. At a minimum, they must also be able to volunteer for 12 hours a week or spend six months in the program.
Applicants must also be U.S. citizens or holders of a valid green card. They also have to be able to attend bi-weekly training which will focus on different aspects of law enforcement.
