Motorcyclist Identified In Fatal Rockville Crash: Police

Montgomery County Police have released the name of a Laurel motorcyclist killed in a Rockville collision.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Montgomery County Police have released the name of a Laurel motorcyclist killed in a Rockville collision with a car. The accident happened about 9:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, on Norbeck Road at Nadine Drive.

Investigators say a 2004 Harley Davidson Sportster motorcycle was eastbound on Norbeck Road when it collided with a 2011 Toyota Camry that was southbound on Nadine Drive at Norbeck Road. Police are still trying to determine what caused the collision.

The motorcycle driver was gravely injured and taken to a local trauma center, where he died from his injuries. He has been identified as Hector Ernesto Giron Lara, 34, of Laurel. The Toyota was driven by a 17-year-old girl with a 14-year-old male passenger. They were not hurt, police say.

The accident remains under investigation. Investigators ask anyone who saw the collision to call the Collision Reconstruction Unit at 240.773.6620.
