Naked Teen on Street Charged with Assaulting Police

A 17-year-old from North Potomac was found without clothes on a Rockville street, where he reportedly hit and bit police.

A teenager who may have overdosed on an illegal drug was subdued with a Taser by police who found him naked and lying in a Rockville street Wednesday.

Montgomery County Police officers were called just before noon to the 9900 block of Juniper Hill Road in Rockville to help Fire and Rescue personnel. Responders said Michael Ha, 17, of the 14000 block of Welland Terrace in North Potomac, was hitting his head against a wall and trying to climb on the fire and rescue vehicles.

The first police officer at the scene reportedly saw a naked Ha lying on the street at the intersection of Willow Tree Road and Juniper Hill Drive. Police say when the officer approached, Ha stood up and struck the officer in the face. He fled when other officers arrived at the scene.

When three police officers caught up with Ha on Willow Tree Drive, the teen allegedly hit an officer in the jaw and bit another officer’s finger. At that point an officer used a Taser to take Ha in custody.

The three officers were taken to a local hospital for treatment of the injuries. Police say Ha was exhibiting drug-induced excited delirium.
