Nancy Daly’s installation challenges the viewer to look beyong the user-friendliness of online technology and consider what their participation in social media means. Daly creates interactive machines reminiscent of outdated technology to address the contradictory ephemeral yet permanent qualities of social media.

About the Artist: Nancy Daly is a recent graduate of the Photographic and Electronic Media MFA program at the Maryland Institute College of Art. While attending MICA, she assisted in teaching foundation and art history courses. Prior to attending MICA, Nancy earned her BFA in graphic design from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia in 2008. She has worked as a graphic designer for a range of clients from a restaurant group to government consulting agencies and non-profits. www.nancy-daly.com
