New coronavirus data is available from Montgomery County and the Maryland Department of Health.

ROCKVILLE, MD — New coronavirus case rate data has been released in Rockville and Montgomery County in Maryland. As of Saturday, there have been at least 16,952 cases of COVID-19 in Rockville since the start of the pandemic, although the number is almost certainly higher, because the Maryland Department of Health only provided numbers for some of the city’s ZIP codes. Here is the ZIP code data available:

20850: 3380 cases
20851: 1308 cases
20852: 2842 cases
20853: 2696 cases
20854: 2373 cases
20877: 4353 cases

  • Received at least one dose: 39,276 people (76.1%)
  • Fully vaccinated: 36,909 people (71.6%)

These numbers are roughly comparable to Montgomery County, where 784,572 people, or 74.6% of county residents, have received at least one dose, and 712,083 people, or 67.9%, are fully vaccinated, according to the county’s COVID-19 dashboard.

The county case rate continues to be significantly lower than its neighbors. According to the latest data, the county’s number of cases per 100,000 residents in the past seven days is 54.2. By contrast, the District of Columbia’s rate is 100.6, Prince George’s County is 78.3, and Fairfax County in Virginia is 79.2.
