New Mixed-Used Development Opens In Rockville

The Daley At Westside Shady Grove opened in Rockville this past weekend. Residents can expect new townhomes, apartments and retail stores.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A new mixed-used building featuring luxury apartments and ground floor retail called The Daley opened in the new Westside at Shady Grove Metro community in Rockville this past weekend, according to a press release.

The Daley is co-developed by EYA and Bozzuto and includes 333 modern apartments and 17,000 square feed of new retail space. The first announced retail tenants include Starbucks and Beauty Sense Nails and Spa, opening in September.

EYA Vice President of Land Acquisition and Development, McLean Quinn, said they've had a strong interest in the retail space and are currently in negotiation with a number of existing tenants.

"We anticipate our mix will include several restaurants and neighborhood convenience businesses," Quinn said. "We've also had several conversations with larger grocery and pharmacy operators interested in future phases of the project."

The Westside at Shady Grove Metro is situated on the Red Line with easy access to major routes, restaurants, shopping and more. The community is located adjacent to the Metro and residents can walk from Columbus Avenue to the Shady Grove Station in as little as two minutes. EYA also installed three Capital Bikeshare stations at Westside — one at the Metro entrance, one adjacent to the retail core and one central to the townhome community.
