New Service Lets Residents Report Government Fraud, Abuse, Waste
Rockville has launched an independent service for residents to report fraud, waste, and abuse related to city services and employees.
ROCKVILLE, MD — In an effort to promote a transparent government, the City of Rockville has launched a telephone hotline and website for residents to report potential fraud, waste, and abuse related to city services and employees.
The 24/7 service — which operates independently from the city — is available year-round and in multiple languages, Rockville officials announced Monday. Community members can report potential fraud, waste, and abuses via email, online report, or a toll-free number: 866-921-6714.

- Abuse of authority
- Conduct that violates laws, rules, or regulations
- Contract or procurement fraud
- Harassment and/or discrimination
- Mismanagement or waste of city financial resources, supplies, or other assets
- Soliciting or accepting a kick back or bribe
- Theft or unauthorized use of city funds, supplies, or other assets
- Violation or disregard of city policies, procedures, or regulations
