Offenbachers Outdoor Furniture Store to Close Rockville, Other Locations

ROCKVILLE, MD — Outdoor furniture and equipment business Offenbachers, with stores in Rockville plus seven other sites in Maryland and Virginia, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

The business based in Lanham sells outdoor furniture, fireplaces, grills and recreation equipment like pool tables and game room fixtures.

A “going out of business” sale to clear $9 million in inventory, store fixtures and equipment will begin Oct. 27, reports WTOP.

The first Offenbachers’ Pool & Patio store opened in 1972, in Rockville, not far from the current Rockville store location, according to the company website. The store carried pool chemicals and supplies, as well as small and unique patio furniture items. Eventually, Offenbachers added billiards, fireplaces and grills to the store, and expanded into multiple locations.

The business has eight showrooms in Rockville, Columbia and Hunt Valley in Maryland, along with sites in Falls Church, Fairfax, Fredericksburg, Springfield and Sterling, Virginia.
