One Dead After Assault at Gas Station: Police

Two men were assaulted in the parking lot of the Sunoco gas station at 14031 Georgia Ave. in Aspen Hill.

ASPEN HILL, MD — Police are searching for suspects who assaulted two men Wednesday night at an Aspen Hill gas station, injuring one victim so severely that he died at an area hospital.

Montgomery County Police say the attack was reported just before 8:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Sunoco gas station at 14031 Georgia Ave. Officers found two Hispanic male victims in the parking lot, one of whom was suffering from life-threatening injuries.

Both victims were taken to an area hospital, where one victim died from his injuries. The second victim is listed in serious condition.

Police are not saying if any weapons were used in the assault and the identities of the victims has not been released. No description of the suspects has been given so far.

Investigators say that for reasons still under investigation, the suspects assaulted the victims in the parking lot of the gas station and fled.

The victim’s body will be taken to Baltimore, where the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will conduct an autopsy.
