Pair of Rockville residents among Long Fence & Home executive promotions as company eyes national expansion

Rockville's Dave Normandin and Jeff Caron of Long Fence and Home earned key promotions as the Maryland-based company eyes national growth.

The leadership team at the Beltsville, Maryland-based home improvement firm Long Fence and Home was recently bolstered by a series of year-end promotions, including Rockville's own Dave Normandin and Jeff Caron.

Mr. Normandin (photo — seated, with dog), previously the chief operating officer for Long Fence and Home, was named company president. In his five years as COO, Mr. Normandin helped oversee tremendous growth in Long Fence and Home’s gross annual sales, which have more than tripled over the past four years.

A Boston, Massachusetts native and current resident of Rockville, Maryland, Mr. Normandin has 30 years of home improvement industry experience and was the executive vice president for NEWPRO in Woburn, Mass. until 2011.

Mr. Caron (photo — seated), formerly Long Fence and Home’s general sales manager, is now vice president of sales. Mr. Caron joined Long Fence and Home in 2016 after serving for three years as director of sales for Next Step Living in Boston and 28 years at NEWPRO in Woburn, Mass., which he left as the vice president of sales. He currently resides in Rockville.

Other promotions included Severn's John Avramidis, Long Fence and Home's new vice president of production; and Halethorpe's Mike Bell, now director of operations.

“I am really excited to assemble this team of professionals as we continue our company vision to become the homeowner’s choice for professional roofing,” says John DePaola, CEO of Long Fence and Home. “These gentlemen have shown their commitment to our customers, and that is first and foremost to anything else we do. We now have the staff assembled to assure 100 percent customer satisfaction in this market and beyond.”

The promotions coincide with major developments at the company. Long Roofing — one of several brands under the Long Fence and Home umbrella — opened a new office in Charlotte, North Carolina in the final months of 2016. Three more national offices are planned for 2017.

The expansion marks the first push outside of the Washington, D.C. metro area for Long Fence and Home, a family business whose roots in the region stretch back to 1945.

“The growth of the company is a credit to John DePaola’s vision to create a national roofing company,” Mr. Normandin said. “We put a plan together, executed and we’ve never looked back. We’re already one of the biggest customers of CertainTeed roofing products, and it’s our goal to be the largest residential roofing company in the country.”
