17-Year-Old Girl With Health Problems Dies, Didn't See Doctor For 2 Years, Police Said
A Montgomery Village couple was charged with homicide and neglect in the death of their 17-year-old daughter with multiple sclerosis.

MONTGOMERY VILLAGE, MD — Montgomery County Police charged a Montgomery Village couple with the neglect and homicide in the death of their 17-year-old daughter while in their care, according to a release.
On May 10, 2022, Montgomery County Fire and Rescue responded to the 9400 block of Quill Place in Montgomery Village for the report of someone having collapsed after having difficulty breathing. MCFRS personnel found the 17-year-old victim and pronounced her dead at the scene.
Police officers made contact with the victim's parents, 40-year-old Cynthia Moore and her husband, 45-year-old Dominique Moore, according to the release.

The mother told the officers that their daughter, who had multiple sclerosis and diabetes, had recently been diagnosed with COVID-19. She also said their daughter hadn't seen a doctor in two years.
Police reported that the family was living in squalor. Due to unsanitary living conditions of the home, Child Protective Services removed six minor children, ranging in age from 5 to 15, from the home and placed them in care, according to police. Two other children over 18 also lived in the home.

After conducting an autopsy of the victim, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner determined the cause of death to be a homicide, according to police.
Police arrest Dominique and Cynthia Moore on Wednesday and charged them each with one count of second-degree murder and six counts of neglect.
